The one who folded was me
Well… I gave up! After some good talks with friends and testing the concept, it became clear: not everyone wants to sit and fold origami just to play. Asking players to follow third-party instructions — whether it’s a WikiHow link or a YouTube video — felt clunky and kind of defeated the whole spirit of a one-page wonder.
I also realized that origami, as beautiful as it is, is almost impossible to explain properly in the limited space of a single page. Diagrams take up a ton of room, and without step-by-step illustrations, it becomes confusing fast. Players often end up frustrated or having to stop and search for a tutorial, which breaks the flow and undermines the magic I was aiming for.
In the end, it was I who folded.
So it’s back to the planning board.
