Scrap that, I was just overcomplicating things trying to reinvent leveling up. Time to come to terms and simplify.

Right now, I’m focusing on letting players level up after each campaign, with some nice little bonuses and unlocks at each level to keep things fresh and varied. But now I’m double-guessing myself: am I actually adding meaningful replayability, or just making the game more convoluted? I want the Paper Knight to stay light, fun, and easy to jump into — but still give players a sense of growth and discovery. Striking that balance is tricky, and that’s where I am right now
